Overview
This internship provides hands-on experience in various human resources functions within the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance Office of Human Resources. The intern will support administrative, communication, research, and talent management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- - Assist in designing, updating and/or maintaining internal records, databases, and SharePoint files.
- - Use Office 365 apps, Power BI, or other software to prepare presentations, reports, and communications.
- - Assist in the planning and dissemination of communication products.
- - Contribute to communication, knowledge-sharing, and outreach activities.
- - Design or edit visuals that align with United Nations branding guidelines.
- - Learn or further develop skills in using software to design, develop and/or edit visual products.
- - Conduct research on HR-related policies, best practices, and data trends.
- - Collect and analyze data for internal reports, budgetary submissions, and oversight reviews.
- - Develop visual solutions and reports based on multiple data sources.
- - Help design, develop, implement learning and development initiatives and training materials.
- - Help plan, coordinate and support briefings, community engagements, learning and knowledge-sharing events.
- - Participate in outreach efforts to engage talent communities and promote job opportunities and HR initiatives.
- - Support implementation of UN strategies and policies that enhance staff well-being and engagement.
- - Collaborate with different teams within OHR to support cross-functional HR initiatives.
- - Propose solutions to enhance efficiency or effectiveness in achieving team deliverables.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
