Overview

This internship provides support to UNDP Country Offices worldwide with ICT and Green Energy solutions, offering a stimulating and versatile experience in an international environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing effective Digital Platform Services to UNDP Country Offices worldwide.
  • Assist in providing advisory support to UNDP Country Offices to implement stable and robust ICT infrastructure.
  • Support the team in maintaining and improving UNDP Global NMS platform.
  • Assist in promoting, testing, updating, and working with Cloud solutions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing cloud-based Unified Communication System.
  • Support developing Business Applications based on SharePoint Online, PowerApps, PowerBI, together with Data Analytics tools.
  • Assist with Service management models including ITIL Best Practice and a Service Desk, Service Catalogue.
  • Contribute to draft quality focused training material, procedures, instructions and templates.
  • Assist the Unit in organizing internal and external conferences.
  • Assist in the promotion of ITM’s overall ICT strategic framework and work plan.
  • Assist the Business Development Group in hosting webinars and presenting/explaining ICT solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ICT systems performance.
  • Interact with UNDP country offices to alert on and troubleshoot ICT problems.
  • Advise UNDP country offices on ICT infrastructure maintenance and development.
Required Experience
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme; Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme; Have recently graduated with a university degree in the field of IT Technician/Software Developer, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and must start the internship within one-year of graduation; Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
  • Knowledge in at least two of the following fields is required: Internetworking, Network management, API programming, AI, or similar areas.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of computer networking and network protocols.
  • Knowledge of network security and infrastructure components.
  • Knowledge in developing API scripts and scripting languages.
  • Awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI); prior experience with AI integration and developing AI-augmented solutions is considered a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge in Unified communication and Network Monitoring systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft collaboration and productivity Tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in network architecture and network monitoring systems is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing and updating website content is an advantage.
  • Experience with gathering, consolidating, and analysing data from databases and reports is an advantage.
  • Interest in developing sustainable solutions for country offices, focusing on ICT and renewable energy.

Remuneration
• Monthly stipend, with the rate that varies depending on the duty location. • Where an intern is engaged in-person and is not financially supported by any institution or programme, a stipend intended to help cover basic daily expenses related to an in-person internship, such as meals and transportation at the duty station, is paid by the receiving office (monthly “in-person” stipend rate is USD1,000). • A remote reduced stipend is paid by the receiving office.
