Overview
The role supports the Volunteer and Youth Development Coordination in developing volunteer and youth initiatives, aiming to strengthen National Societies, their volunteers, and vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the growth and initiatives of the Inter-American Volunteer Development Center (ICVD), including the Network of Experts, working groups, and volunteer integration into the IFRC.
- Assist in the development of the Volunteer Platform, managing the 'Volunteers in Action' map and incorporating knowledge management tools.
- Compile best practices, documents, news, projects, and information on volunteering and youth in the Americas for official Federation pages, global bulletins, and communications with National Societies.
- Coordinate volunteer groups for specific tasks.
- Update the baseline study on volunteering and youth in the Americas.
- Support the monitoring, follow-up, and reporting of projects related to volunteering and youth.
- Update the database of all Volunteer and Youth focal points in the Americas.
- Assist in the execution of events, activities, and initiatives by the V&J Coordination in the Americas.
Required Experience
- Experience working or volunteering in other countries in the Americas.
- Experience as a volunteer in the Red Cross, Guides and Scouts, or similar organizations.
Qualifications
International relations, social sciences, communications, disaster management, organizational development, or a related field.
