Overview
Conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality visual materials for print and digital dissemination in compliance with United Nations branding guidelines. The role aims to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and impact of UNRCPD’s work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop graphic design and visual content including event branding, brochures, flyers, posters, factsheets, infographics, social media graphics, web visuals, report covers, and data visualizations.
- Design and format publications for print and digital dissemination, ensuring professional typography, structured layouts, accessibility, and print-ready files.
- Create original illustrations, icons, and visual assets, and edit/enhance photographs.
- Ensure consistent application of United Nations and UNRCPD branding guidelines and develop visual identity packages.
- Design visual assets for short videos and multimedia storytelling, and develop visual concepts for awareness campaigns.
- Incorporate feedback and deliver final products in appropriate formats, maintaining organized archives.
- Provide rapid-response design support for time-sensitive communications.
Required Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in graphic design, visual communication and/or multimedia production is required.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and laying out publications such as reports, policy briefs, toolkits, brochures and digital communication materials is desirable.
- Experience in developing visual identity systems and branding packages for events, campaigns or organizations is desirable.
- Experience in image creation, illustration, data visualization and photo editing is desirable.
- Experience producing digital assets for websites and social media platforms, including static and motion graphics, is desirable.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; PowerPoint; and other relevant tools) is desirable.
- Experience working with international organizations, United Nations entities, governmental institutions or non-profit organizations is desirable.
- Familiarity with United Nations branding guidelines and accessibility standards is desirable.
Qualifications
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, Digital Media or a related field is required.
- Formal training or certification in digital design tools, branding or multimedia production is desirable.
