Overview
Provide editing and proofreading support for climate change and climate action content on the UNDP Climate Promise website, translating from English to French to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread assigned reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language quality.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting.
- Check for clarity, coherence, and logical flow, suggesting improvements.
- Verify correct formatting of references, footnotes, and annexures.
- Coordinate with other volunteers to align editing standards.
- Liaise with the UNDP Climate Hub team and Country Offices to clarify content and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure final versions are publication-ready, adhering to UNDP guidelines.
Required Experience
- Strong understanding of climate change and climate action
- Prior experience translating development, humanitarian, environmental or climate-related content
- Ability to deliver quality translations under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with UNDP editorial and publication standards, including terminology, structure, and formatting requirements is desirable
- Strong attention to detail, stylistic consistency, and adherence to institutional branding and communication guidelines
- Ability to work with large documents and ensure coherence and quality across bilingual/trilingual versions
