Overview
Provide accurate and clear interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive) between ITU official languages during conferences, meetings, and field missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and clear interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive) between two or more ITU official languages during ITU conferences, meetings, and field missions.
- Work effectively as part of a team of interpreters, and, when required, lead the team during assignments.
- Occasionally handle sensitive or high-level meetings, requiring discretion and professionalism.
Required Experience
At least one year of experience in conference (simultaneous) interpretation is required.
Qualifications
University degree in Interpretation, Translation, Linguistics, Languages or a related field OR education from a reputed college of advanced education, with a diploma equivalent to a university degree in one of the fields above.
Other Details
Languages Required
Native command of at least one (1) of the six official languages of the Union (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) and the ability to interpret from two (2) or more other official languages.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of any additional official languages is an advantage. Experience with remote interpretation platforms is considered an advantage. Knowledge of video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams etc.) is desirable.
