Overview

The CIMIC Analyst assesses the impact of population composition, cultural characteristics, geographic distribution, perception and behaviour on plan readiness and during the execution of operations. This role supports J2 assessment and J10 Target Audience Analysis.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Contribute to the NATO CIMIC Analysis and Assessment Capability (NCAAC) development.
  • Develop ACO’s Collection Plan from a Human Terrain perspective.
  • Contribute to ACO’s Civil Environment Human Terrain related information requirements and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the Human Terrain part of the Civil Environment Picture.
  • Coordinate with J2, J10 and Political and Security Analysis (PSA) Group on analytical products.
  • Support the PLANS and OPS processes within the Branch.
Required Experience
  • - Minimum 2 years of experience at Strategic/Operational HQ an IO/NGO or private sector related Human Terrain analysis (sociology/anthropology including cultural property).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on the analysis and assessment of Civil Factors.
  • Experience working within military environments and alongside multinational defence stakeholders.
  • Ability to interface, coordinate and discuss operational issues with senior officials.
Qualifications

University Degree and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
