Overview

The Child Protection Officer will support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian child protection interventions in the Dominican Republic, focusing on children affected by human mobility and other vulnerabilities. The role contributes to an integrated response that combines protection, health, nutrition, and WASH interventions.

Required Experience
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience in social development or humanitarian planning and management in child protection-related areas is required.
  • Working experience managing ECHO/EC grants is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Dominican and Haitian civil society organization ecosystem is an advantage.
  • Working experience with the Dominican Government is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is considered as an asset.
Qualifications

A completed Bachelor’s or first level university degree in one of the following fields is required: migration, international development, humanitarian action, human rights, psychology, sociology, political science, international law, public health or another relevant social science field.

Fluency in Spanish is required. Proficiency (working knowledge) in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
