Overview
The consultant will provide technical support to accelerate the environmental dimension of SDG implementation and address the triple planetary crisis while achieving socio-economic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support in the development of CCAs and the elaboration of UN-CF framework.
- Coordinate and support the implementation of the outcomes of the 2nd UNRC dialogue.
- Technical and advisory support between RDC Unit and the Results Groups on the ground, UN Resident Coordinators and National Institutions.
- Providing technical backstopping to the UNCT FP system in Africa.
- Technical capacity building on UNCT FP mechanism.
- Provide technical support for CCA and UN-CF end cycle quality assessments.
- Support the Regional Director (RD) and Deputy Regional Director (DRD) in their roles of high-level political representation.
- Provide technical guidance to UNCT reporting including UN INFO reporting of UNEP’s initiatives in Africa.
- Technical support in the implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the Africa Office Management Project.
- Support resource mobilization and environmental financing.
- Support projects in the Regional Development Coordination team related to food systems.
Required Experience
Experience with an International organization is desirable.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in environment science, conservation, natural resource management, engineering, project management, economics or related fields is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
