Overview

The Associate Programme Management Officer will support the implementation and evaluation of projects, conduct research, and contribute to policy coordination and evaluation functions within the Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in implementation and evaluation of the project.
  • Monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project implementation.
  • Reviews relevant documents and reports.
  • Identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions.
  • Liaises with relevant parties.
  • Identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
  • Carries out basic research on selected aspects of the project.
  • Collects, analyzes and presents statistical data and other information.
  • Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
  • Assists in performing consulting assignments.
  • Participates in survey initiatives.
  • Assists with design of data collection tools.
  • Issues data collection tools, reviews, analyzes and interprets responses.
  • Identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions.
  • Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs.
  • Undertakes outreach activities.
  • Participates in workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
  • Coordinates activities related to budget funding.
  • Contributes to the collection and analysis of data.
  • Identifies trends or patterns and provide draft insights.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area, or the successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP)/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P) is required. 2 Years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (Master's or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in international relations, political science, business administration, management, economics or a related field is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P). Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
