Overview
The communications consultant will assist with the implementation of the communication strategy for the new cycle, ensuring presence on relevant communication channels and coordinating with the UPU Communication program.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing editorial content for communication outputs, including success stories, member spotlights, news items, and activity updates.
- Proposing and leading the production and publication of a quarterly newsletter.
- Crafting and refining key messaging for diverse audiences.
- Designing and adapting communication materials, including banners, flyers, invitation cards, and infographics.
- Developing visual assets for digital channels.
- Maintaining and updating the CC webpage.
- Monitoring and moderating interactions in the CC WhatsApp Community.
- Tracking channel performance and proposing improvements.
- Liaising with CC members to collect communication materials and updates.
- Maintaining and updating the CC members’ contact list.
- Supporting targeted outreach to prospective CC members.
- Acting as a point of contact for CC members on communication-related matters.
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of the CC communication strategy.
- Coordinating communication activities with the UPU Communication programme.
- Refining communication mechanisms and making recommendations for strategy improvement.
- Producing periodic reporting on communication activities and outcomes.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in communications, including demonstrated experience in an international or intergovernmental organisation context.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Experience managing digital channels and social media platforms, including content scheduling and basic performance analytics is required.
- Experience with newsletter production tools (e.g. Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, or equivalent) is required.
- Confirmed experience with a Website Content Management System (Kentico preferred) is required.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with a proven ability to produce clear institutional content for diverse audiences (members, partners, general public) is required.
- Experience in member or stakeholder communications, particularly in a multilateral or membership-based context is required.
