Overview

The National Project Officer will support programme management and key policy-related initiatives for the Cameroon Migration Governance Enhancement project, aiming to enhance migration management in Cameroon.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of operational, administrative and financial aspects of the project.
  • Keep supervisor informed on project implementation status, identify gaps and suggest actions.
  • Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets, M&E tools and SOPs.
  • Coordinate data collection, verification and analysis; update information management systems and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports.
  • Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities and government counterparts.
  • Contribute to planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups and interagency coordination meetings.
  • Participate in the preparation of project proposals, communication products, concept notes and planning documents.
  • Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
  • Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring, assessments and liaison with counterparts.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
  • Six years of relevant professional experience with a university degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and skills is mandatory.
  • Experience at project management at managerial and technical level in emergency, post disaster and conflict contexts.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • University’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned field.

• Fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
• Working knowledge of Spanish.
