Overview
The Non Health Supplies Planning Analyst will support the technical and operational aspects of effective and efficient resource management, with specific focus on demand planning for non health programme supplies for country offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process for forecasting demand for non-health products, working with country offices and program teams to ensure accurate planning.
- Provide technical guidance to regional and country offices in the area of national non-health commodity needs assessments.
- Develop and manage supply plans, ensuring optimal stock levels, inventory management, and timely replenishment of standard stock materials.
- Align non-health planning processes with an ERP system.
- Contribute to the production and automation of forecasting and quantification tools.
- Contribute to the comprehensive assessment to understand existing market landscapes, identify trends, and pinpoint specific barriers to access or growth for non-health programme supplies.
- Support and implement activities related to UNFPA’s Governance, Risk, Compliance and Reporting function.
- Conduct capacity assessments to identify gaps and develop a plan that outlines and prioritizes specific capacity-strengthening initiatives for non-health programme supplies planning.
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and training to national entities and field offices on best practices in the planning and management of non-health supply chains.
- Promote and advocate for UNFPA's leadership in supply chain management.
- Support an environment for knowledge retention and sharing and the creation of a community of practice for supply chain.
- Support the full range of supply chain management issues, incorporating best practices and continuous improvement across UNFPA.
- Contribute to the awareness of UNFPA’s value proposition and relationships with donors and partners.
- Act as the technical focal point for all aspects related to the procurement of non-health goods and services, coordinating with procurement teams and managing supplier relationships.
- Formulate and execute strategies to effectively advocate for the broadened TPP services concerning non-health program supplies to potential "third-party" partners.
- Maintain effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders within UNFPA to ensure coordinated and effective tailored solutions for each area of intervention.
- Support relationships with key supply chain partners with the purpose of increasing the efficiency of UNFPA’s supply chain function.
- Evaluate current supply chain planning processes, identify gaps, and provide data analysis and reports to inform decision-making and ensure accountability on all supply chain activities.
- Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other logistics information systems for materials requirements planning and inventory tracking.
- Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Chief, SCMU.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 of progressively responsible professional experience in supply chain, logistics, and planning, preferably within the humanitarian/NGO sector.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and managing the supply of non-health products.
- Experience in a multi-cultural environment and with UN/international organization procedures is desirable.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, commerce, or a related field is required.
- Professional certification in procurement and supply (e.g., CIPS Level 3-4) would be an asset.
