Overview
The role involves representing the Mission at meetings, monitoring the situation, investigating incidents, and contributing to reporting and proposals for confidence building measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Representing the Mission at meetings of the Joint Control Commission
- Taking part in monitoring of the situation and the investigation of incidents in the region
- Contributing to the Mission’s reporting covering his/her field of responsibility
- Contributing to the development of proposals for confidence building measures with respect to military and security forces
- Advising the Head of Mission and other Mission members concerning military issues
- Performing other duties in the fulfilment of the Mission’s mandate as required
Required Experience
- Significant experience in arms control, monitoring ceasefire violations and peace-keeping operations and/or other relevant areas of military-related affairs
- Experience in negotiations and liaison with governmental and military authorities
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience
- Previous work experience preferably in an international environment or within operational missions
- Previous experience with OSCE
- Previous experience working in former CIS countries
Qualifications
- Officer / Warrant Officer training and/or university degree in a relevant technical field
- First-level university degree in relevant field(s)
