Overview
Consultant to conduct stakeholder mapping and data collection for a situational assessment on climate mobility, disaster risk, and response in Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a research tool with guiding questions, methods, and consent forms.
- Conduct structured mapping of stakeholders including government, development partners, and civil society.
- Review existing data sources, identify analytical gaps, and opportunities for integrated analysis.
- Undertake targeted qualitative data collection through interviews and focus group discussions.
- Prepare a gender-sensitive analytical report on climate-related human mobility.
- Support consultations and integrate feedback from the Technical Working Group and stakeholders.
- Prepare a detailed workplan and timeline.
- Conduct desk and literature reviews.
- Develop stakeholder and institutional mapping tool.
- Deliver capacity training on mapping and data collection.
- Analyze data and identify key patterns and gaps.
- Present preliminary findings and revise reports based on feedback.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in applied research, data analysis, or assessments.
- Experience working with governmental agencies in Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
- Familiarity with climate change, human mobility (e.g., migration, displacement) or DRR issues.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Social Sciences (e.g., Migration Studies, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, Environmental Studies) or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
