Overview
The Information Systems Officer will manage the development and rollout of a new asset tracking and inventory system, ensuring adherence to development standards and coordinating deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects for the development of the new UNOV/UNODC asset tracking and inventory system and rollout, covering all major processes and services as defined in the business requirements document by adhering to ITS/BAST’s software development standards using the PowerPlatform development stack.
- Develop the detailed project plan and coordinate the deployment activities with the technical team and client focal points.
- Provide technical knowledge to the development team and ensure timely delivery of all outputs according to key milestones defined in the project plan.
- Design, develop and oversee the solutions architecture of PowerPlatform environments for a large international organization, requiring many interconnected modules, its data security and systems interfacing each other.
- Manage, maintain, and configure the system environments, containing all administrative components to the solution, establish a standard deployment process and implement the necessary controls to operate the technical environment effectively.
- Coordinate the work of the technical developers and provide system architecture guidelines.
- Define, manage and create reusable components in PowerPlatform Component Libraries to accelerate the systems application development.
- Facilitate communication between ITS and the project stakeholders and establish and maintain a regular governance process with stakeholders external to ITS.
- Identify issues to be addressed and propose corrective actions.
- Liaise with technical staff to ensure the effective use of technologies and existing systems in support of ITS/BAST’ applications utilizing key technologies and services, including Office 365, and the in-house SAP database, Umoja.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
- Perform other work-related duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of five years (5) of progressively responsible professional experience in planning, design, development, implementation, deployment, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications supporting Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Asset Management, or related business processes is required. Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale asset tracking or inventory management solutions using Microsoft Power Platform is required. Of the minimum years of experience, at least two (2) years must be in designing, developing, implementing, administering, and managing enterprise-scale solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including solution architecture, security, environment management, and/or deployment processes is required. Of the minimum years of experience, at least two (2) years must be in integrating Microsoft Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems and services, such as SAP, Active Directory, Human Resources systems, Microsoft 365, or monitoring tools is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or related field is required. A first-level university degree in a relevant field in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
