Overview
The European Commission is seeking a Statistical Officer to provide high-quality statistical information in the area of population, migration, and housing statistics for the European Union.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the statistical programme ensuring standardisation and high quality of official European statistics in the domain of population, migration and housing statistics.
- Be in charge of data and metadata production as well as the methodological and legal development of the domain.
- Be involved in statistical cooperation activities on demography and migration matters with Member States, other countries and international organisations.
- Draft methodological and statistical guidelines, particularly with the United Nations Statistical Division and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
- Be involved in the modernisation of the domain’s statistical production system, ensuring alignment with statistical requirements and objectives, while collaborating with IT experts for technical implementation.
Required Experience
Prior experience in population and housing censuses, demography, migration or social statistics is an advantage.
Qualifications
- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
- Have passed an EPSO CAST in the relevant Function Group for this position.
