Overview

Oversees the development and implementation of training centre programmes, projects, and daily operations. Manages the development, delivery, and assessment of training programmes and supervises staff.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the development and implementation of the Training Centre’s programmes, projects, activities, and daily operations at both administrative and technical levels.
  • Manages the development, delivery, and assessment of the training programmes.
  • Represents the Training Centre in conferences, workshops and related educational activities.
  • Promotes discipline, well-being, and morale among trainees.
  • Participates in and supervises the preparation of the Biennium Budget of the Training Centre.
  • Oversees trainee nomination and enrollment processes.
  • Supervises the relevant project proposals, feasibility studies, tracing studies and market surveys.
  • Participates in the design and modification of training spaces.
  • Leads recruitment and performance appraisal of Training Centre staff.
  • Advises on the design and implementation of initiatives and learning programmes for UNRWA TVET greening and digital transformation.
  • Guides and oversees the implementation of Occupation Safety and Health (OSH) measures, trainings, and activities.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience

At least seven years of progressively responsible relevant experience is required, including: Four years’ experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity in a TVET institution; and Three years of progressively responsible relevant professional satisfactory teaching experience. Experience in their occupation or area of technical specialization in an industry-related context. Experience in supervision of a residential educational training centre or college are desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in educational administration or in one of the subjects taught at the center. For external candidates, proof of completion of a professional development programme equivalent to that required for this post as outlined in UNRWA TVET In-Service Professional Development Framework is acceptable for recruitment purposes. Ph.D. degree in education or education administration or psychology or in one of the subjects taught at the centre. Possession of a recognized diploma of education or teacher training certificate of at least one year duration.

Contract Duration
Fixed Term Appointment for 1 year; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need.
Work Modality
In case of a residential Training Center, the incumbent shall be required to reside in the training centre compound.
Remuneration
Monthly basic salary USD 1,825.40, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable). Additional benefits: 2 days of sick leave for each completed month of service. 14 weeks of Maternity Leave. 2 weeks paternity leave.
