The Administrative Officer will analyze and evaluate management, budgetary, and administrative aspects of United Nations programs and operations. The role involves drafting reports and providing substantive support to intergovernmental bodies.
At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in budgetary, administrative, or financial management, including analysis of programme budgets and administrative policies, within international organizations, or comparable institutional setting is required. At least two years of progressively responsible experience drafting intergovernmental documentation, including analytical reports and policy papers on administrative, budgetary, and related issues for intergovernmental bodies and executive boards, with demonstrated expertise in formulating findings, conclusions, and evidence-based policy recommendations to support decision-making processes is required. Experience in programme budget and policy analysis, including assessing resource requirements and budget implications, and in synthesizing complex quantitative and qualitative information into evidence-based recommendations to support organizational decision-making, is required. Experience applying the financial and staff regulations, rules, and administrative procedures of the United Nations or a comparable international organization, in the context of budget preparation and human resources reports, is required. Experience supporting intergovernmental or expert bodies, including preparation of substantive documentation or participation in formal sessions is required. Experience in data analytics, artificial intelligence or related area is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related area is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable. Certification programs or training in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
