The Humanitarian Affairs Officer / Reporting is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on humanitarian developments and coordinating international humanitarian assistance.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, or other related area, is required. Humanitarian experience in the field (actual setting where a mission and/or project is being implemented) in emergency situations (complex emergency or natural disaster) is required. Experience in humanitarian financing, e.g., grant management, fundraising, and donor relations for humanitarian programmes, is required. Experience in drafting reports (e.g., on the monitoring of the implementation of annual work plans, situational assessments, etc.) is desirable. Experience in managing meetings related to humanitarian funding allocation is desirable. Experience within the UN Common System or other international organization is desirable. Experience in the West and Central Africa region is desirable.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
