The Humanitarian Affairs Officer / Programme Officer supports the management and oversight of the Central African Humanitarian Fund and contributes to effective humanitarian financing.
A minimum of (5) five years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, or other related area is required. Experience in programme or project management, monitoring and evaluation, grants management, or humanitarian coordination is required. Experience in humanitarian financing, including grant management, fund allocations, project monitoring, donor reporting or pooled fund management is desirable. Experience working with a Country-Based Pooled Fund (CBPF) or a comparable multi-donor humanitarian financing mechanism is desirable. Experience within the UN Common System or other international organization is desirable. Experience supporting capacity strengthening of national and local humanitarian organizations is desirable. Experience in the West and Central Africa region is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, development studies, business administration, engineering, earth sciences or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
