Overview

Provide technical expertise to support regional macroeconomic modelling activities under the PAGE Senegal programme and PAGE's global work on regional macroeconomic modelling. The role involves contributing to model development and application, preparing analytical and knowledge products, and responding to technical requests.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical review and quality assurance support for analytical products, including reports, modelling outputs, and policy documents.
  • Provide technical backstopping to modelling and evidence-based analysis activities, including review of methodologies, assumptions, and outputs.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and validation processes by providing technical support for workshops and documenting feedback.
  • Provide advisory support on just transition and circular economy policy applications, assessing alignment with national priorities.
  • Support knowledge management and dissemination of good practices by identifying lessons learned and contributing to knowledge products.
Required Experience

At least five years of accumulated work experience in environmental economics with a focus on macroeconomic modelling. Experience working on public policies (e.g. public finance management, budgeting and public investment, fiscal policy reform) is an advantage. Professional experience producing economic analysis both at global, national and sectoral levels and providing policy advice to national governments is an advantage. Experience of working with governments and the UN system on the theme of Green Economy and sustainable development is an advantage. Experience of system dynamics based models is an advantage.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s) in development economics, macroeconomics, econometrics, public finance statistics, public policy, or a related field.
