Overview
Provide cultural mediation and interpretation support to facilitate communication between service providers and migrants. Support community engagement and awareness-raising activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cultural mediation and interpretation support (English into migrants’ mother tongue and vice versa).
- Provide verbal interpretation support to IPAS staff.
- Assist through interpretation during information collection, data, and case identification/referrals.
- Support beneficiaries in contacting service providers.
- Support identification of vulnerabilities and refer them for case management.
- Assist with logistics, interpretation, and beneficiary outreach for community engagement activities.
- Conduct outreach activities to inform beneficiaries about MHPSS services.
- Provide interpretation assistance to mental health professionals.
- Prepare routine documentation and submit basic reports.
Required Experience
- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Completion of trainings in cultural mediation for mental health settings would be an asset.
- Experience in cultural mediation in the framework of migrants’ assistance.
- Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs, EU Agencies and/or Irish law enforcements or Government’s Departments would be an asset.
Qualifications
High school diploma; or, Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, International relations or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
