Overview
The role focuses on climate displacement risk management, involving climate risk assessment, disaster risk analysis, and displacement analytics to inform decision-making and support evidence-based planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct climate risk assessment, disaster risk analysis, and displacement analytics.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis.
- Work with hazard, exposure, and vulnerability datasets.
- Perform quantitative analysis using household, community-level, or socio-economic datasets.
- Support government institutions or other stakeholders in evidence-based planning, policy development, or capacity strengthening.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience in climate risk assessment, disaster risk analysis, displacement analytics, or closely related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial analysis, and the use of hazard, exposure, and vulnerability datasets.
- Experience conducting quantitative analysis and working with household, community-level, or other socio-economic datasets.
- Proven experience supporting government institutions or other stakeholders in evidence-based planning, policy development, or capacity strengthening initiatives; experience in Asia and the Pacific is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced academic background in climate risk, disaster risk management, environmental science, geography, data science, migration studies, or another relevant discipline.
