Overview

The Private Sector Development Analyst will contribute to the effective management and implementation of the Surging Women’s Employment Flagship Initiative (SWEI) Programme by focusing on increasing decent employment opportunities for women through improved gender-responsive workplaces and transformative partnerships with the private sector.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of engagement with the private sector.
  • Provide substantive technical support for the implementation and management of programmes and interventions for the engagement with the private sector programme and WEPs signatories.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners for the engagement with the private sector to enhance women’s economic empowerment and participation in the labour market.
  • Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme and interventions for the engagement with the private sector and WEPs singatories.
  • Provide substantive technical inputs to the management of people and finances of the engagement with the private sector programme.
  • Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on engagement with the private sector to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country.
  • Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts.
  • Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.
Required Experience

At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required. Experience in development and implementation, monitoring, and reporting on programmes related to gender and the private sector are required. Experience in providing advisory support to the private sector on women’s economic empowerment is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required. Experience working with the UN is desirable. Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable. Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, business administration, business relations, social sciences, or other relevant fields. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
