Overview
RedR Australia maintains a global roster of more than 1,000 senior humanitarian specialists who can be deployed to strengthen preparedness, emergency response, disaster risk reduction, recovery and stabilisation operations. Roster members provide temporary surge capacity to United Nations entities, governments, international NGOs and other humanitarian partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy globally to provide specialised technical support during humanitarian emergencies, disasters and recovery operations.
- Strengthen partner capacity in emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction, response, recovery and stabilisation.
- Apply sector-specific expertise according to the requirements of the requesting organization and operational context.
- Work effectively with United Nations entities, governments, international NGOs and other humanitarian stakeholders.
- Operate flexibly and resiliently in diverse, complex and potentially high-pressure emergency environments.
- High-demand profiles currently include Information Management and GIS, MEAL, logistics, emergency telecommunications, food security, public health, protection, shelter and site planning, WASH, education in emergencies, climate change, DRR/DRM, gender and GBV, PSEAH, child protection, disability inclusion, accountability to affected populations and cash assistance.
Required Experience
- At least five years of relevant technical experience.
- Most roster members have approximately 10 to 15 years of professional experience.
- Previous experience working in global emergency response contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and effectively across different countries, cultures and crisis environments.
- Resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to respond appropriately in demanding humanitarian settings.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate senior-level technical expertise in a relevant humanitarian discipline and successfully complete RedR Australia’s assessment, screening and pre-vetting process.
