Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to structuring sustainable finance transactions, expanding the offering, and scaling successful solutions across sectors and markets.
- Translate climate priorities into practical operational and investment solutions.
- Advance climate outcome measurement through technical and operational pilots.
- Contribute to the integrated A&R agenda by linking physical climate-risk intelligence, adaptation finance, outcome metrics, and origination.
- Support material, complex, innovative, or precedent-setting operations and transactions.
- Partner with operational, sector, financial, legal, treasury, data, and technology teams to develop and test new financial products and digital or AI-enabled tools.
- Support WBG-wide and global leadership through research, MDB harmonization, stakeholder engagement, and coordinated briefs.
- Manage workstreams and contribute to cross-institutional and country assignments under the YPP rotation model.
Required Experience
2-6 years of relevant professional or applied research experience in climate adaptation and resilience, climate or disaster-risk analytics, development policy, public investment, infrastructure or sector planning, adaptation finance, or related operational work. Experience in developing-country contexts is an advantage.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Master’s degree in climate science, economics, engineering, hydrology, geography, environmental or data science, statistics, public policy, finance, development studies, or a closely related field, completed by the start date; interdisciplinary training spanning climate risk, development, and decision-making is highly desirable.
