Humanitarian Access & Operations Senior Officer
Overview
The Operations Officer is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and materials, vehicle operation, maintenance, and professional representation of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient transportation of IRC personnel and materials.
- Safe and responsible operation of standard and armored IRC vehicles.
- Maintenance and servicing of IRC vehicles and their accessories.
- Professional representation of IRC.
- Conducting daily checks and inspections of the vehicle before each trip.
- Meticulous maintenance of the vehicle logbook, route logs, and other documents.
- Adherence to IRC-established safety procedures, routes, traffic rules, and communication requirements.
- Application of defensive driving principles.
- Performing other job-related tasks as assigned.
Required Experience
At least three years of experience as a professional driver; strong practical skills in driving vehicles with a manual transmission. Experience working as a driver for humanitarian organizations, international non-governmental organizations, or in high-security-risk environments is a plus. Possession of a certificate or completion of specialized training in driving armored vehicles (Armored Vehicle Training) is a plus.
Qualifications
A high school diploma; vocational (technical) education. A valid driver’s license for categories B and C.
