Overview

The role is to design and deliver technical solutions for data integration to enable data-driven decisions. It contributes to standardizing technical practice and improving capability in data engineering and data science.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver technical solutions required to integrate complex data.
  • Enable data-driven decisions.
  • Contribute to MARCOM’s journey to standardise technical practice and lift technical capability in project management, data engineering and data science.
  • Build, test and deploy technical solutions to enable desired project outcomes.
  • Leverage complex algorithms, data science workflows and data modelling and AI to solve business problems and deepen situational awareness.
  • Develop and adopt critical data engineering methods which standardise the approach to the collection, storage, processing, pipeline management and governance of data.
  • Develop and adopt the appropriate architecture (policies, procedures, guidelines and ways of working) to strengthen maturity and enable continuous improvement in data integration.
Required Experience
  • 3 years’ experience of applying data science tools to support advanced data analytics, machine learning and data visualisation.
  • 2 years function related experience (if educated to an advanced Degree level in data science/data analytics or a closely related field).
  • 4 years post related experience (if Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation).
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering data integration using AI and or Machine Learning Tools e.g. Databricks, Watson, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit, TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing mathematical and statistical models to resolve business challenges.
  • Demonstrable experience applying data science, analytics and data integration tools/programming languages on real-world datasets e.g. Python, R, KNIME, Splunk, Geo data.
  • Experience of using big data ecosystems e.g. Hadoop, Spark and/or MapReduce (desirable).
  • Experience of working in NATO or similar multi-national defence / security sector (desirable).
Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree level in data science/data analytics or a closely related field.
  • Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation.
  • Industry recognised qualification / accreditation in relevant field (desirable).
