This opportunity is for a Programme Assistant (G5) or Associate (G6) role within WHO, focusing on programme or procurement functions. The role supports the translation of global and regional health commitments into national action.


Key Responsibilities

G5 level tasks include drafting correspondence, revising documents, taking notes at meetings, typing reports, arranging duty travel, scanning and following up on correspondence, monitoring project activities and funds, making administrative arrangements for country activities including procurement of goods and services, assisting in the organization of meetings, establishing and maintaining filing systems, responding to enquiries, and maintaining WHO documentation modules. G6 level tasks include providing administrative support to operational planning and project development, following up on HR-administrative issues, drafting paperwork for HR, checking and obligating purchase requests, tracking client-support systems, managing administrative functions, compiling documentation, preparing financial reports, reviewing and processing ERP transactions, and monitoring project implementation. For the Procurement Associate role, tasks include supporting procurement planning, preparing and processing procurement documentation, tracking procurement actions, supporting procurement and contract management, providing administrative support for logistics and supply chain processes, assisting in customs clearance, supporting donation-related documentation, monitoring delivery of goods and services, ensuring procurement files are complete, supporting invoice verification, liaising with counterparts, and providing administrative and logistical support for events.

Required Experience

G5 level: At least 5 years of relevant experience. G6 level: At least 8 years of relevant experience. Desirable: Relevant experience in WHO, the UN or another international organization.

Qualifications

Essential: Completion of secondary school or equivalent. Desirable: Relevant higher education from an accredited institution.

Remuneration
Annual net base salary starting at USD 25,677 at the G5 level or USD 31,077 at the G6 level, depending on the level of appointment, (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
