Project Analyst [Open to Internal and External applicants]

Overview

The Project Analyst will support the implementation of the Dumisha Amani II project, focusing on peacebuilding, youth engagement, and inclusive development in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of detailed implementation plans aligned with national youth policies and project objectives.
• Ensure synergy and alignment of project activities with national strategies and complementary initiatives.
• Facilitate coordination between UNDP, government institutions, CSOs, community structures, and development partners.
• Provide technical support to strengthen national and community peace infrastructures.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of the National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security (NAP-YPS).
• Facilitate and provide technical guidance for the development, review, and implementation of Community Peacebuilding Action Plans.
• Support the establishment and operationalization of youth centres.
• Integrate peacebuilding approaches into development planning and implementation processes.
• Ensure all project interventions integrate gender equality principles.
• Develop M&E tools to track project progress.
• Lead collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
• Prepare technical reports, lessons learned, case studies, policy briefs, and communication materials.
• Support the line Ministry in developing the strategy for youth development.
• Assist in effective coordination among the government and different development partners.

Required Experience

• Minimum two (2) years (with master’s degree) or four (4) years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience in the field of Law, Political Sciences, International Relations, Development studies, Social Sciences or related field is required.
• Experience in programme/ project management
• Experience in networking with partners at all levels
• Strong experience in peace and security sector
• Proven experience in project management, including budget planning, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and project reporting
• Experience in managing and implementing field cooperation activities and programmes, and/or dealing with countries at risk of violent extremism, preferably with international organizations
• Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in the field of Law, Political Sciences, International Relations, Development studies, Social Sciences or related field is required OR A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
