Overview
The Information Management and Data Analyst will manage data flows across four UN agencies, strengthen information management systems, and contribute to improved reporting, accountability, and measurement of Spotlight Initiative results in Sierra Leone.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of P-MER and knowledge management plans.
- Establish and manage shared information repositories and contact/mail lists.
- Promote adherence to UN data protection and privacy standards.
- Support the development and application of basic data governance rules.
- Assist programme governance bodies by preparing concise updates on data-related issues.
- Map actors working on VAWG and harmful practices.
- Conduct periodic multi-sectoral service mapping and referral pathway assessments.
- Analyze service mapping and secondary data to identify gaps.
- Assist in tracking key performance indicators and support regular Data Quality Assessments.
- Support in the harmonization of data standards and reporting templates.
- Design and produce user-friendly data visualizations.
- Present IM findings and briefings at Spotlight Initiative coordination meetings.
- Facilitate capacity building, knowledge sharing and partnership.
- Assess data management capacity of implementing partners.
- Foster collaborative relationships with programme recipient UN organizations, government and civil society partners.
- Identify, synthesize and document best practices and lessons learned.
Required Experience
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in information management and data analysis within the development sector.
- Desired Skills: Experience in interagency coordination and collaboration within the UN system; Previous experience working on the Spotlight Programme Initiative; Previous working experience in least developed and developing countries; Proven experience in partnership, stakeholders’ engagement and coordination; Demonstrated experience in data harmonization, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent), data quality assessments, and databases; Experience and practical knowledge of ethical GBV data handling, confidentiality and survivor‑centred approaches; Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, and data linking); Solid hands-on experience with mobile/digital data collection tools and survey software (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, Open Data Kit (ODK), or similar platforms.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Information Management, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies or another closely related field is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
