Overview
The role focuses on leading and coordinating the implementation of WFP's Localization Policy, specifically strengthening engagement with community-based organizations (CBOs) in food security and nutrition. It also involves supporting wider localization policy coordination and ensuring gender, protection, and inclusion perspectives are integrated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of Objective 2 of the Localization Policy, providing technical advice and coordinating adaptation of corporate frameworks for CBO engagement.
- Consolidate lessons learned from pilot activities and develop/refine corporate guidance.
- Advise and provide technical assistance to country offices on strengthening CBO engagement.
- Conduct or contribute to studies and analyses to strengthen WFP's engagement with CBOs.
- Contribute to organizational measurement and tracking of CBO engagement.
- Support Objective 4 implementation in relation to CBOs, developing guidance and advising country offices.
- Advocate and engage with other UN agencies and international organizations.
- Contribute to communications products, funding proposals, donor engagements, and reporting.
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience (of which at least 3 are international) of postgraduate professional experience in international development or humanitarian work. Demonstrated experience in working or partnering with community-based organizations, especially community-based representative groups, including women-led organizations, organizations for people with disabilities, refugee-led organizations, or similar, in humanitarian and/or development settings. Demonstrated experience working within an international organization, including areas related to partner management, grant management, or other areas relevant to working with NGOs, CBOs, and other civil society actors.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in International Development, Economics, Social Science, or other field relevant to international development assistance.
