Overview

The role provides translation and interpretation services, assists in preparing analysis of political-economic developments, and gathers and distributes information for the Mission.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provides English-Russian and Russian-English translation/interpretation services.
  • Prepares and translates correspondence, documents, publications.
  • Drafts analysis of political, political-economic and media issues related to the Transdniestrian settlement process.
  • Monitors Transdniestrian media and investigates political issues.
  • Compiles, translates and distributes news from international, Transdniestrian and Russian news agencies.
  • Gathers open-source information of interest to the Mission.
  • Assists in organizing events, negotiation meetings, official visits.
  • Drafts memos on results of events.
  • Maintains a library of relevant documents.
Required Experience

At least 6 years of working experience as an interpreter/translator including some experience in political analysis and office administration preferably in an international organization or embassy; a university degree in a relevant field may be considered as a substitute for up to two years of working experience only to determine eligibility.

Qualifications

Completed secondary education supplemented by formal studies in modern languages, as well as specialized training for translation/interpretation.

Remuneration
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction is EUR 1,342.75. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Moldova. Social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered.
