Project Management Support - Specialist

Overview

Provide demand-driven technical assistance for climate-resilient infrastructure implementation in Eastern Caribbean SIDS, ensuring quality delivery and fostering regional partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update project implementation plans.
• Manage project execution, including milestones, resources, and quality.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, local laws, and international standards.
• Monitor project progress, report on status, and evaluate performance.
• Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Coordinate quality reviews of project documents and deliverables.
• Foster knowledge sharing and document lessons learned.
• Deliver assignment reports, including primary assignment reports, final technical reports, and specialized safeguard/compliance reports as applicable.
• Complete mandatory administrative deliverables such as Intellectual Property (IP) Handover Confirmation.

Required Experience

• 7 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; OR 5 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree or equivalent in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration or similar.
• Relevant experience includes working in the implementation of complex projects/programmes, project planning, implementation, and control, including communication and reporting, quality assurance methodologies, managing project risks and issues in a multi-stakeholder context, and planning, managing, and supervising the execution lifecycle of public infrastructure projects.
• Experience dealing with government officials is required.
• Desired experience includes working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country, development or humanitarian contexts, direct prior experience in Caribbean countries (particularly OECS Member States) with a strong understanding of the region's institutional landscape and climate vulnerabilities, technical and practical experience in planning, managing, and supervising the execution lifecycle of public infrastructure projects in Caribbean countries, operational familiarity with procurement procedures and project management standards from Multilateral Development Banks and International Financial Institutions, and functional knowledge of standardized international contract models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration or similar.
• Project management certification from a globally recognized institute is desired (PRINCE2® Foundation/Practitioner or PMI -Project Management Professional - PMP or similar certification).
