Overview

This Call for Applications aims to establish a roster of qualified candidates to support emergency response operations. Selected candidates may be mobilized for surge staffing requirements during disasters and humanitarian response operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of emergency response activities.
• Compile, analyse, and present information and data on disaster impacts and humanitarian needs.
• Monitor project budget implementation and resource utilization.
• Serve as the focal point for administrative and operational coordination.
• Prepare situation reports, implementation updates, and progress reports.
• Draft correspondence, briefing notes, donor reports, presentations, and other operational documentation.
• Organize and support coordination meetings, simulations, trainings, and capacity-building activities.
• Respond to complex operational information requests and maintain project records.
• Participate in inter-agency coordination mechanisms and technical working groups.
• Monitor the implementation of activities by implementing partners.
• Contribute to the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), contingency plans, and guidelines.
• Provide guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff. May supervise other staff as assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience; or, High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, High School diploma.
