IT Operations Officer SC-8

Overview

Support the delivery of efficient and effective IT services, contributing to sound, innovative solutions that enable staff to deliver assistance to beneficiaries. Ensure support to the implementation and management of Digital Assistance Services (DAS) in the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the budgeting, planning and deployment of IT and Telecommunications systems.
• Provide support to maintain IT and Telecommunications systems and networks.
• Install and configure new computer hardware.
• Provide data and documentation to support the procurement of TC/IT equipment and services.
• Collate data and contribute to the preparation of accurate reports on IT/Telecommunications investments and costs.
• Develop technical skills and knowledge.
• Respond to queries from users, understanding and resolving issues.
• Guide junior staff.
• Support the capability building of staff.
• Coordinate with other UN agencies.
• Interact effectively with colleagues and user groups.
• Follow standard emergency preparedness and contingency planning practices.
• Follow operational plans and deliver resource requirements at the onset of an emergency.
• Review and analyze TEC EPR framework.
• Decide and recommend course of action.
• Ensure timely analytics and reports on emerging concepts relating to telecommunications technologies.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Required Experience

At least one (1) year of postgraduate professional experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunication, Networking or other relevant field.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunication, Networking or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in the same disciplines, combined with additional years of relevant work experience.
