Deputy Division Chief (MCMGA)

Overview

The role involves leading the Fund's work on global financial market surveillance, analyzing systemic markets, and developing research on financial stability risks. The selected candidate will be part of the management team and play a major role in shaping the division's work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of financial sector experts and economists.
• Oversee the Fund’s Hong Kong Resident Representative office.
• Foster staff development and empowerment.
• Coordinate or lead the drafting of chapters of the GFSR.
• Present GFSR findings to Fund and external audiences.
• Provide intellectual leadership on research projects.
• Provide leadership in the production of the Global Markets Monitor.
• Supervise briefings for Fund leadership attending international meetings.
• Represent the Fund in working groups.
• Collaborate with area and functional departments on financial risks.
• Participate in interdepartmental multilateral surveillance exercises.

Required Experience

• A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant professional experience, including supervisory or managerial experience, is required.
• A track record of leading a team and managing large and complex projects.
• A strong network of financial market contacts, especially in EMDEs or among investors in EMDEs.
• Prior experience in the financial sector or official institutions would be an advantage.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field of study or equivalent.
