Monitoring Assistant (Multiple Duty Stations)
Overview
The Monitoring Assistant will support the monitoring of WFP's preparedness, anticipatory action, response and recovery activities by collecting, verifying, consolidating and analyzing data from field activities, partners and government counterparts.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the planned distribution of cash and early recovery assistance.
- Collect and summarize assistance data in sampled remote locations.
- Supervise third party monitors both in person and remotely.
- Liaise with government, cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback.
- Suggest improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures.
- Arrange for regular meetings with community leaders, government and cooperating partners.
- Facilitate community feedback by supporting the use of appropriate grievance redress mechanisms.
- Support regular food commodity price monitoring.
- Provide standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices.
- Prepare field mission reports and other monitoring documentation.
Required Experience
At least five (5) years of professional experience with UN agencies, NGOs, government institutions, academia or private sector with a focus on disaster management, resilience, humanitarian, development, or related programmes and activities. Demonstrated field experience working in remote or hard-to-reach locations. Experience collecting programme output and outcome data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and preparing reports and findings for reporting findings to management team, partners, donors, and other stakeholders. Experience utilizing WFP monitoring and evaluation systems, tools, and standards is desirable.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, social science, disaster management, development studies, or a related functional area is desirable.
