National Migration Health Physician (Health Assessment Programs

Overview

The National Migration Health Physician will ensure the efficient daily operations of IOM projects and programme activities related to migration health assessments. The role involves conducting medical examinations, managing referrals, and contributing to quality improvement systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct the migration health assessment process including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment and referrals, pre-departure procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure proper identification of migrants and refugees medical needs and record health information accurately.
• Manage medical referrals and oversee TB treatment and sexually transmitted infections.
• Oversee and coordinate immunization and presumptive treatment programmes.
• Contribute to and maintain a system of quality improvement for service areas.
• Organize systematic collection, processing and analyses of migration health data.
• Ensure data related to health assessment programmes is entered into MiMOSA and other databases.
• Coordinate the procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications, and other medical supplies.

Required Experience

Minimum of two (2) years, post-graduation, continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting. The last clinical posting should be within the last five years.

Qualifications

University Degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution. Valid license to practice medicine within Cyprus is mandatory.
