Social and Behaviour Change Officer for Emergency Response
Overview
Support the design, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of Social and Behaviour Change, Risk Communication and Community Engagement interventions for emergency preparedness and response.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of Social and Behaviour Change, Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) interventions for emergency preparedness and response.
- Provide technical support to emergency response teams and field offices.
- Coordinate with partners for the design, development, collection, analysis, and use of behavioural evidence.
- Develop and adapt evidence-based emergency communication materials, key messages, community engagement tools, facilitation guides, and partner briefs.
- Support the activation and strengthening of community engagement platforms and networks.
- Contribute to emergency preparedness plans, contingency plans, rapid assessments, response strategies, after-action reviews, and situation reports.
- Facilitate capacity development for UNICEF staff, government counterparts, implementing partners, and community actors.
- Support monitoring, reporting, and documentation of Social and Behaviour Change and Accountability to Affected Populations in emergency response results, lessons learned, human-interest stories, field updates, and good practices.
- Perform any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience at national and/or international level in Social and Behavior Change (SBC), Risk Communication and Community Engagement, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), emergency preparedness and response, humanitarian coordination, community engagement, or public health promotion. Experience supporting emergency response operations, including disease outbreaks, displacement, floods, or other humanitarian crises, is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social and behavioural sciences, communication for development, public health, anthropology, sociology, development studies, international relations or another relevant field.
