Supply and Procurement Officer

Overview

The International UNV Supply and Procurement Specialist will support the procurement of goods and services for UNICEF Malawi, contributing to strengthening procurement processes, market assessment, vendor identification, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support programme sections in developing, reviewing, and updating supply plans.
• Track implementation of supply plans and flag delays, deviations, and risks.
• Analyze supply dashboards and KPI performance.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of procurement and supply chain delays.
• Undertake periodic trend analysis of procurement activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support identification and monitoring of risks in supply planning and procurement processes.
• Analyze patterns related to procurement anomalies.
• Provide recommendations to strengthen internal controls and compliance mechanisms.
• Support programme sections and partners in strengthening supply planning and monitoring capacities.
• Assist in documenting lessons learned, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to training and orientation of programme staff on supply processes and tools.
• Provide analytical and coordination support to construction procurement and logistics planning.
• Support logistics teams through data tracking and coordination.

Required Experience

At least 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management. Experience working outside the home country is an asset.

Qualifications

Master's degree in supply chain management, project management, engineering, business administration, and other related fields. A bachelor's degree with 2 years of additional experience beyond the required 7 years can be considered equivalent to a master's degree.
