Field Security Officer
Overview
The Field Security Officer advises the Head of WHO Office on maintaining the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets. The role involves monitoring the security situation, conducting risk analysis, developing contingency plans, and increasing security awareness among staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the Head of WHO Office on safety and security of WHO personnel, premises, and assets.
- Monitor the implementation of technical security measures.
- Monitor the security situation across the country and undertake security risk analysis.
- Develop contingency plans and SOPs.
- Design a system to track WHO staff and responders.
- Ensure deployed staff are provided with communication devices.
- Increase security awareness and conduct training for all WHO staff.
- Maintain updated security information and prepare periodical situation reports.
- Participate in identifying proper accommodations with adequate security measures.
- Ensure WHO's participation in the UN Security Cell and establish contact with national authorities.
- Conduct safety and security training and certify staff.
- Supervise and guide Local Security Assistant(s).
- Perform any other incident-specific related duties.
Required Experience
At least seven years' experience with proven international exposure in security management. Experience in training and guiding staff on security issues.
Qualifications
University degree in police science, business administration, political/social science, psychology or international relations or related field from an accredited/recognized institute, with focus on security management or equivalent in military or police academy degree or training.
