Knowledge Management Specialist

Overview

The Knowledge Management Specialist leads the Facility’s knowledge management and capacity development functions, providing substantive support to strategic partnerships with international financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Facility’s knowledge management approach, workplan and editorial pipeline.
• Establish methods to capture, validate, organize and disseminate good practices, lessons learned and emerging evidence.
• Lead or coordinate the preparation of high-quality knowledge products.
• Maintain accessible repositories, taxonomies and quality standards for Facility knowledge.
• Use stakeholder feedback to improve the relevance, accessibility and use of the Facility’s knowledge offer.
• Design and facilitate a regular programme of peer learning, webinars, clinics, workshops and knowledge exchanges.
• Establish and steward a community of practice on UN-IFI partnership.
• Translate complex policy and operational experience into practical learning materials.
• Promote systematic learning across the Facility’s three-tier support model.
• Provide substantive support to implement agreed partnership commitments with the World Bank and African Development Bank.
• Prepare background analysis, briefs, agendas, talking points, meeting records and follow-up trackers for partnership dialogues.
• Coordinate inputs from UN entities, field colleagues and partners.
• Document and disseminate partnership results and good practices.
• Conduct applied research and analysis on UN-IFI partnership, engagement of multilateral development banks, innovative finance, private sector partnerships, digital technology and other emerging peace finance issues.
• Support collaborative assessments, joint analytical products and policy dialogue.
• Contribute to concept development, quality assurance and knowledge components of Facility initiatives.
• Promote conflict-sensitive, inclusive and ethically grounded approaches.
• Contribute to results monitoring for the knowledge management offer.
• Provide substantive inputs to Facility workplans, progress reports, donor briefings, presentations and the annual UN-World Bank partnership monitoring process.
• Coordinate knowledge contributions from consultants, surge experts, embedded personnel and implementing partners and review deliverables for quality and consistency.
• Contribute to resource mobilization, communications and other Facility priorities.

Required Experience

• Five (5) years of relevant experience is required with an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent).
• Seven (7) years of relevant experience is required with a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Relevant experience is considered progressively responsible professional experience in knowledge management, policy research and analysis, organizational learning, programme management, partnerships or a related field.
• Experience developing analytical or knowledge products for professional audiences is required.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and translating technical or policy material into clear, practical outputs.

Qualifications

• An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in knowledge management, international relations, political science, economics, development studies, peace and conflict studies, public policy, communications, information management, social sciences, or related field.
• OR
• A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) preferably in knowledge management, international relations, political science, economics, development studies, peace and conflict studies, public policy, communications, information management, social sciences, or related field.
