Overview
The Finance Associate will act as a focal point for budget and finance matters, contributing to WHO's goal of ensuring a functional healthcare system in Solomon Islands.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as focal point for budget and finance matters, responding to queries and escalating issues
- Provide information and guidance on application of organizational rules, policies, and procedures
- Monitor compliance and analyze funding situations, planned costs, donor agreements, and expenditures
- Provide guidance and support for operational planning and workplan management
- Check completeness and accuracy of payment request supporting documents
- Follow up on invoices on hold and encumbrances with budget centers
- Ensure timely processing of bank account replenishments
- Review and process service registrations and reports from budget centers
- Identify areas requiring improvement and recommend capacity building initiatives
- Establish and/or maintain the team's electronic filing system of technical documents and correspondence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the designated supervisor
Required Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in general office or administrative support functions, including substantial experience in providing support for finance-related activities and processes. Desirable: Administrative experience working in an international organization, requiring frequent interaction with high level government, executive and other officials. Knowledge of WHO administrative procedures and practices.
Qualifications
Essential: Completion of secondary or high school. Desirable: Training in office administration.
