Overview

The Cleaner is responsible for performing daily cleaning and disinfection of restrooms, kitchen areas, offices, and common areas to maintain a clean, safe, and presentable environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of restrooms, including sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, fixtures, and floors.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies, including soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other consumables.
  • Polish and maintain metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Promptly report any maintenance issues, leaks, or damage.
  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of kitchen areas, including sinks, countertops, tables, appliances, and floors.
  • Replenish kitchen supplies, including liquid soap, dishwashing liquid, sponges, and paper towels.
  • Clean and sanitize refrigerators, microwaves, and other shared kitchen equipment.
  • Empty waste and recycling bins daily and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Carry out daily cleaning of offices in accordance with the established cleaning schedule.
  • Dust and clean desks, furniture, shelves, windowsills, office equipment, and other accessible surfaces.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as required.
  • Empty wastebaskets daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderly appearance of office premises.
  • Perform daily cleaning of common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles, handrails, switches, and front entrance doors.
  • Ensure that entrances, corridors, and shared spaces remain clean, safe, and presentable.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform the UN Common Services Officer of any replenishment needs.
  • Ensure the proper use, storage, and handling of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Follow applicable occupational health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Immediately report any safety hazards, accidents, damages, or unusual observations.
  • Provide support in preparing meeting rooms and common areas, as required.
  • Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary.
Required Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in providing cleaning services in an office, commercial, institutional, or similar environment.
  • Experience using basic computer systems.
  • Experience using cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
  • Experience in basic occupational health and safety practices related to cleaning activities.
  • Previous experience working with an international organisation, diplomatic mission, UN agency, or similar environment.
  • Experience maintaining cleaning standards in office premises with multiple occupants and visitors.
Qualifications

Secondary school education

Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in Russian and Turkmen is required.
Languages Preferred
Basic communication skills in English are desirable.
