Project Associate (Reintegration)

Overview

The Project Associate (Reintegration) will support the implementation of reintegration activities, including economic, social, and psychosocial support to returnees, and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual meetings with eligible returnees to identify needs and capacities and develop reintegration plans.
• Participate in remote pre-departure sessions to inform migrants of available assistance.
• Coordinate with sending missions on reintegration assistance.
• Refer migrants to specialized services and conduct follow-up.
• Maintain case files and update tracking tools and IOM’s Migrant Management Operational System Application (MiMOSA).
• Prepare and undertake field missions for reintegration activities.
• Support administrative coordination with procurement and finance units.
• Coordinate with government and non-government counterparts.
• Identify and report shortfalls in delivery.
• Participate in the selection process for Implementing Partners.
• Participate in Community-Based Planning (CBP) activities.
• Support capacity development activities.
• Prepare reports on reintegration activities and contribute to project proposals.

Required Experience

• School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in working closely with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with government counterparts, local non-governmental partners, international organizations and private sector entities.
• Experience in return and reintegration, possibly in the framework of AVRR schemes, or experience in other relevant fields such as livelihood or protection programming.
• Previous experience with UN and International Agencies, international or local NGOs preferred.

Qualifications

School diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
