Overview
The role of Technical Specialist is to ensure that good practices and lessons learned from PBF projects are taken into account for the design of the new Strategic Framework and new PBF projects. The role also provides technical support for the design of new PBF projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Finalized PBF Guatemala Strategic Framework 2026-2030, ensuring incorporation of lessons learned from the 2020-2025 Strategic Framework and recommendations from the 2026 Portfolio Evaluation.
- Systematizations of recommendations from Final Project and Portfolio Evaluations.
- Five finalized Project Documents, ensuring compliance with PBF guidelines, alignment with the 2026-2030 Strategic Framework, and incorporation of relevant Final Project/Portfolio Evaluation recommendations.
- Case studies on lessons learned, conducted on topics to be agreed with the PBF Secretariat, which could include the following: 1) Effectiveness of the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation based on the communities where some PBF projects were implemented. 2) The incorporation of gender equality and women's empowerment in PBF projects. 3) Youth empowerment processes to participate in decision-making spaces for peacebuilding.
Required Experience
7 years of relevant experience in the design and management of international cooperation projects related to peace, development, or human rights. Experience with the UN or other international organization is an advantage. Knowledge of Guatemala's history and the challenges and opportunities for peacebuilding. Solid general computer knowledge, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email and internet; familiarity with database management and office equipment. Theoretical knowledge in peacebuilding; transitional justice; Women, Peace and Security Agenda; Youth, Peace and Security Agenda. Technical knowledge in conflict analysis; strategic planning; results-based management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Development, Law, International Relations.
