Overview

The consultant will advise on and develop a digital communications and engagement architecture for the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa, spanning strategic anchors for late 2026 and the 2027 delivery cycle.


Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on the digital narrative plan for the flagship report launch, including pre-launch positioning, launch-day amplification, and post-launch sustainment. Prepare a launch communications strategy note, design specifications for digital assets, and a post-launch analytics review.
  • Advise on the digital narrative treatment of the Africa Academic Conference, preparing a conference communications note, design specifications for digital assets, and an analytical review of engagement outcomes.
  • Conduct an analytical review of OSAA's current digital audience composition, reach, and engagement patterns. Deliver a 2027 digital narrative strategy note, campaign architecture, and design specifications for anchor assets.
  • Provide ad hoc expert advisory input on the digital dimension of OSAA's 2027 planning.
  • Prepare a consolidated methodology note documenting analytical frameworks and tools applied.
Required Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience in digital communications and stakeholder engagement, including experience in the private sector or in organizations of comparable complexity. Experience in content creation and social media management, including work with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools. Experience in web content management and digital analytics, including work with Webflow, WordPress, Drupal or similar tools. Experience delivering communications products in support of senior principals or high-level leadership. Experience producing slide decks, newsletters and video content. Experience of communications work relating to Africa, African development or related policy areas.

Qualifications

At least a first-level university degree in communications, digital marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field is required. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
