Shelter and WaSH Technical Assistant Yemen Hodeidah (National)

Overview

Assist with the implementation of the WASH/Shelter portfolio according to plan of action. Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and supervise the construction and/or rehabilitation works of water and sanitation facilities, shelters and other community infrastructures.
• Participate in preliminary activities (needs assessment, identification of beneficiaries, design of technical documents) of the WASH/Shelter sector.
• Support capacity building of masons, skill and unskilled workers and local populations.
• Provide technical advice and supervision to integrate traditional construction systems and knowledge.
• Promote the sustainability of settlements and community infrastructure interventions through technical training.
• Collect and share weekly evidence and required sources of verification of WASH-Shelter installations.
• Provide feedback to line manager on goods and materials ordered, as well as the quality of work from contractors.
• Share the observations from the field, particularly the input received from beneficiaries to improve the programme.
• Support the implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming throughout programmes.

Required Experience

Experience in the WASH/Shelter sector.
